What is Naturopathy?

 

We have been healing ourselves and each other since the very beginning!   

  Naturopathy is a science, art and a distinct school of natural health.  It is the oldest form of healing, "original medicine" if you will.  Naturopathy seeks to find the root cause of a "dis-ease" or ailment.  This is addressed with entirely natural substances and methods, such as proper nutrition, vitamin/mineral supplementation, adequate sunlight, pure water, herbs, flower essences, essential oils, color/sound therapy, homeopathic medicine and naturopathic bodywork to heal the body on all levels. There is an emphasis on emotional health as well, as the mind/body connection has been long established.

The Path to Wellness: A Natural Approach

Diet

  • We believe that toxins in our food and environment can greatly contribute to many illnesses. Eating wholesome, live, bio-available food, organic and local whenever possible reduces harmful substances entering our bodies. Also, eating the right foods for you further aids the body in healing itself and preventing future disease. Supplementing with vitamins, minerals and herbs can be recommended to optimize nutrition.


Individualized Plan of Action

  • You are unique!  We are not all the same and so our total needs for optimal health are not the same across the board.  Naturopathy is not a "one size fits all" approach, so your recommendations could look very different from another person that may have the same health concern.  You will have a game plan specifically tailored to you to support your needs and goals. 


Fasting & Detox

  • This gives the body opportunity for deeper cleansing and a break from its daily routine. Fasting and detox programs assist the body in the release of toxins and waste matter which have accumulated over time.  There are so many detox diets and programs out there but choosing the right one for you is key.


Exercise & Healthy Lifestyle Choices

  •  This includes stress management, environmental health, adequate sleep and rest, fresh clean air, mindfulness, various exercise regimes to support the body, mind and soul. 


Hydrotherapy (internal & external)

  •  This includes drinking clean, filtered water and the use of external water therapy such as baths and foot soaks (herbal, sitz, epsom salts, etc). Colonic irrigation & enemas may also be recommended.  


Emotional Health

  •  It is equally important to support the emotional aspects of ourselves.  Most illness starts from long-standing, unprocessed emotions, causing "weaknesses" in certain areas of the body. When these emotions are not addressed, it often manifests into physical dis-ease in the weakened areas.
